What is “the” best choice to improve Vista performance on a budget?
I bought an eMachine T3612 (Celeron D 3.46GHz, 512M DDR2 Memory, 533MHz FSB, Windows Vista Home Basic) and just the web browsing performance is unacceptable(I wont even try to play any current gen PC games). My question is, what would improve the Vista performance most at this point. Doubling my system memory to 1 gigabyte OR returning computer for a Pentium 4 3.2GHz which has 4x CPU cache and 800MHz FSB but keeping system memory same at 512 megs of memory? Yeah, I know more is always better with computers but Im on a budget. So should I go for double the memory on current system or just get a better CPU/mobo combo with same amount of memory?
Where is the best cycle performance prices on the web?
what is the best network monitoring tool?
i wanna know what the best program is for network monitoring because i have my girlfriends brother using my internet through wireless of corse but i wanna know when he is downloading and what he is downloading, i done a little searing myself and found a program called traffic shaper which basically Features
# Speed limiting for bandwidth-intensive applications and protocols
# Flexible address and port filtering
# Acknowledgement prioritization to speed up congested links
# Real-time traffic monitoring and stream statistics
but all it tells my is ip address of the domain and not the actual website and how many mb of bandwith has been used, maybe i can use a packet sniffer or something, can someone give me a shove in the right direction thanks
