Suggestions for free Network Monitoring program?

I'm looking for a network monitoring tool. Most of the ones I have found show the sender/receiver of specific packets, but I want something much more general. I just need to know network up-time.

I'm having a lot of problems with my T1 connection, and I want to measure how often it gets disconnected. Any suggestions??

    Rather than a network monitoring program, have you considered checking with your ISP (Internet Service Provider). With most ISPs, you can login and check your usage. . . This includes each time your modem connected.
