I need a free program for monitoring network traffic and usage?

a program to detect the network usage and download rates on multiple computers on the same network.

    Check out MRTG, it takes a while to setup, but it works beautifully.

    Try Zenoss Core – Enterprise IT Monitoring, you can go to SourceForge. net to get a copy for free. SourceForge is a great site to find free open source software to accomplish just about any task that you want. I’ve found good free versions of any commercial software that I would have purchased. In many case the software has good community group support and the install packages are great. Sometimes you have to be a nut and bolts computer expert but if you are monitoring network traffic you most likely fall in the nuts and bolts category. Good luck and I hope this helps.

    It’s a packet sniffer and you can view the packets sent to every computer in your house.
